Cameco was proud to be part of the Rock Your Roots: Walk for Reconciliation event in Saskatoon on Friday, which honours residential school survivors and demonstrates a commitment to reconciliation. We operate in partnership with communities across the traditional territories of northern Saskatchewan, and we are committed to listening, learning and walking alongside our Indigenous partners.

Cameco welcomes the federal government's nuclear energy strategy, which recognizes that Canada offers multiple nuclear reactor technologies including the Cameco-owned AP1000® reactor. The strategy reaffirms that provinces hold jurisdiction over technology choice, which directly impacts how Canada benefits from its nuclear sector, both domestically and internationally.

The annual week-long Pinehouse Elders Gathering is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture and community – and Cameco team members were happy to lend a hand by providing supper to around 400 people on Thursday. Thanks to everyone who came out to make it a special day.

Cameco is proud to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day this Sunday by celebrating Indigenous culture, community partnerships and the many contributions of Indigenous Peoples – including our valued Indigenous employees. Across our four northern Saskatchewan sites, we’re welcoming community guests for a day of connection, featuring traditional foods by Athabasca Catering, cultural displays and musical performances. Cameco is marking an incredible milestone: more than $5 billion spent with northern Saskatchewan and Indigenous-owned businesses since 2004 to support our northern operations. At a celebration on June 10, we were joined by our Preferred Northern Contractor (PNC) partners and northern and Indigenous leaders with whom we have collaborated to reach this achievement. "It's about relationships. It's about the businesses you've built, the communities you support and the opportunities we've created together across northern Saskatchewan.

In recognition of Pride and Indigenous History Month, Cameco was honoured to welcome Dr. James Makokis to Saskatoon. A Cree, Two-Spirit physician from Saddle Lake First Nation and co-winner of The Amazing Race Canada Season 7, Dr. Makokis shared an inspiring and thought-provoking presentation with our employees on creating inclusive spaces for transgender and Two-Spirit people. Cameco is proud to support the World Nuclear University, which is now holding its annual Summer Institute program. The Summer Institute is a great place for young professionals in the nuclear industry to connect with mentors and develop leadership skills – and we’re particularly excited to have two of our own employees attending. In addition, Cameco CEO Tim Gitzel, Vice-President, Investor Relations Cory Kos and Vice-President, Supply Chain Management Dylan Bryngelson have been on hand to share their experiences.

It's an exciting time in the nuclear industry - and we'll need skilled leaders to achieve its full potential. That's why we're proud to be a program partner with the Canadian Executive Nuclear Energy Management School, hosted by the University of Saskatchewan in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Skill, courage and dedication took centre stage at the Saskatchewan Mining Association’s Emergency Response Mine Rescue Skills Competition in Saskatoon. Cameco crews from Cigar Lake, Key Lake and McArthur River joined a record field of 19 teams, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their commitment to being ready when it matters most. Special congratulations to McArthur River’s Marty Ledoux for placing second in the bench technician event which tests troubleshooting and repair skills for life-support equipment.
