On Thursday at the National Energy Roundtable, Cameco CEO Tim Gitzel spoke on a panel with the three leaders of Canada's nuclear utilities - OPG President and CEO Nicolle Butcher, Bruce Power President and CEO Eric Chassard, and NB Power President and CEO Lori Clark. Tim shared that nuclear is and always has been a global business for which Canada has a strategic and competitive advantage.

From its discovery in 1968 to its legacy as North America’s longest-operating uranium facility, Cameco's Rabbit Lake’s story is one of resilience, teamwork and a few legendary safety awards along the way. Rabbit Lake uranium deposit was discovered in 1968. The site began production in 1975. “Fifty years is a remarkable milestone, and it’s all thanks to the many people who have made Rabbit Lake what it is,” said CEO Tim Gitzel. “Your dedication, innovation and teamwork have not only powered our operations, but have helped set the standard for safety and community spirit at Cameco."

Earlier this week at the American Nuclear Society Winter Conference, Cameco CEO Tim Gitzel received an ANS Presidential Citation recognizing his strategic leadership, global influence, deep industry expertise, and outstanding contributions to the global nuclear fuel development and production industry. Tim also spoke on a plenary session with fellow industry leaders sharing updates on their efforts to increase reliable, carbon-free nuclear energy by expanding the nuclear fleet and advancing nuclear technology deployment.

We had another successful year selling pink toques and raising money to fund dreams for women facing a life-threatening cancer diagnosis. The weekend kicked off Friday night when this year's #TD4D recipients received their jerseys from the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are hosting their annual Pink Game on Saturday, celebrating the Cameco Riders Touchdown for Dreams program, which makes dreams come true for women living with a life-threatening cancer diagnosis. Pink toques will be available for purchase for $20 from Team Cameco volunteers prior to kick-off. All proceeds support the program. #TD4D Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan
