Biography

Liam was appointed senior vice-president and chief legal officer of Cameco on September 1, 2025.

Prior to his current appointment, Liam’s primary focus was regulatory matters involving provincial authorities as well as Cameco’s primary federal regulator in Canada, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. He joined Cameco's legal department in 2005 and became vice-president, safety, health. environment and regulatory relations in 2011.

Prior to joining Cameco, Liam practised law with two national law firms in Calgary. He received a law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998 and clerked with the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and was also admitted to the bar in Alberta.

Liam is on the boards of the Saskatchewan Mining Association, the Canadian Nuclear Association and the Mining Association of Canada, as well as previously serving on the board of the Canadian Nuclear Lawyers' Organization.
