Spent fuel management is the final stage of the nuclear fuel cycle. Nuclear power operators have been safely managing spent fuel for well over half a century. However, the topic, particularly permanent deep level disposal, is often controversial and unfortunately misinformation is common. For clarity, while Cameco is invested in nuclear power generation, it has no role in managing spent fuel, or any country’s plans for long-term disposal of spent nuclear fuel.
