- The combined operations at Smith Ranch (including the North Butte satellite mine) and Highland form the largest uranium production facility in the United States.
- Cameco operates both ISO 14001 certified Wyoming locations, which opened in 1975 and 1972 respectively, and uses the environment-friendly in situ recovery mining method.
Q3 2017 Update
Total US production was nominal for the quarter and 70% lower for the first nine months compared to the same periods in 2016, as a result of the decision to curtail production and defer all wellfield development at our US operations.
As expected, production continues to trend down as the head grade decreases. Given production volumes to the end of September, we have lowered our 2017 production plan by 0.1 million pounds to 0.3 million pounds.
