  • The combined operations at Smith Ranch (including the North Butte satellite mine) and Highland form the largest uranium production facility in the United States.
  • Cameco operates both ISO 14001 certified Wyoming locations, which opened in 1975 and 1972 respectively, and uses the environment-friendly in situ recovery mining method.
  • The Smith Ranch central plant currently processes all of the uranium while the Highland mill is idle.

Production

At our US operations, total production was 25% lower for the quarter and 33% lower for the first nine months compared to the same periods in 2015, as a result of the decision to curtail production and defer all wellfield development beginning in May, 2016.
