Last week, Cameco hosted four leaders from northern Saskatchewan at our Fuel Services Division in Port Hope, Ontario. Black Lake Denesuline First Nation Chief Coreen Sayazie, Fond du Lac Denesuline First Nation Chief Ronnie Augier, Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation Chief Bart Tsannie and Pinehouse Mayor Mike Natomagan joined staff from Cameco's Corporate and Community Relations team on a tour of Port Hope Conversion Facility and Cameco Fuel Manufacturing. The four communities represented by their community leadership have collaboration agreements with Cameco that are designed to support mutual beneficial partnerships that provide communities with employment and business development opportunities and capacity building. The tours provided an opportunity to learn about how uranium from Cameco's northern operations is transported to Ontario, where it is refined, converted and manufactured into fuel to power both light water and heavy water reactors in Canada and around the world.
