Canada is the second largest uranium producer in the world - all of which is mined in Saskatchewan, making our province essential to the global nuclear industry. This week's conference featured an opening keynote from Scott Moe, who reiterated the government's commitment to bring nuclear power to Saskatchewan. The following two days were filled with in-depth discussions and knowledge sharing on the vital issues that must be addressed to build the nuclear industry in Western Canada, including the importance of Indigenous partnerships to successfully develop nuclear power, the industrial base that can be leveraged for developing a nuclear supply chain, and what is needed to build a skilled and sustainable workforce for the developing industry.
