Today we celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Throughout the week, we've been profiling some of the many Cameco women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Meet Rebecca Peters, superintendent, special projects for Cameco’s Fuel Services Division in Ontario. “Having a STEM career and a family can be like managing two full-time jobs and it can be really hard without support. However, with more women in leadership roles, more diversity in the workplace, as well as recognition of the importance of mental health and flexible work options, barriers in the workplace are slowly being eliminated. Within Cameco, I attribute this shift to our senior leadership team and the momentum to the new perspectives brought by increased diversity and experience in the workforce. I love that it is no longer the norm for me to be the only woman in the room.” #womeninscience #womeninSTEM #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience Cameco Ontario
