Cameco’s Elder Advisor/Knowledge Keeper program provides spiritual and cultural supports to employees and contractors while they are at site. An Elder Advisor or Knowledge Keeper is an Indigenous individual who holds spiritual and cultural knowledge in areas such as traditional medicine, languages, cultural teachings, or ceremonies. Our Elder Advisors/Knowledge Keepers, who are employed on a part-time, rotational basis, provide workers with on-site support, counsel, and traditional teaching or ceremonies to promote overall well-being and strong mental health.
