Dream & Believe Taps Major League Baseball for 2014 Camps
Andrew delivered his motivational message to nearly 1,000 students in the morning before teaching baseball fundamentals to a smaller group in the afternoon. The camp made a stop in North Battleford on Tuesday with trips to Prince Albert and Regina still to come this month. Each participating school will also be receiving a legacy gift of 30 sets of baseball/softball equipment.
Andrew is a Battlefords native who plays for the Minnesota Twins. He was the first Saskatchewan native to play in the majors in 21 years.
The Dream & Believe camps provide young people with sport instruction, while reinforcing the importance of believing in one's individual goals and dreams. It is the fourth year of the program, which previously touched communities in northern Saskatchewan led by former NHLer Rich Pilon.
