CNSC grants five-year licence renewals

Port Hope, Ontario, February 26, 2007 - Cameco Corporation was notified today that the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has renewed the operating licences for the Port Hope conversion facility and Zircatec Precision Industries, a Cameco company.

Both facilities were granted five-year operating licences.

"We are very pleased that the commission has granted new five-year licences to both facilities," said Bob Steane, vice-president, fuel services division. "We are proud of our operations and believe they are deserving of the commission's confidence."

Andrew Oliver, vice-president of Zircatec Precision Industries, also expressed his pleasure at today's announcement.

"This is a real credit to our employees," he said. "They work very hard to ensure that we adhere to the highest standards of health and safety and environmental protection."

Steane added, "I also want to thank the community for its support of our operations in Port Hope. We will continue to work with local residents to build mutual trust and respect."
