Cameco's Blind River operation is the area's largest employer, providing quality jobs for about 160 people.

We are committed to hiring local residents for all positions, wherever possible. Our support for an apprenticeship program and programs at local schools helps local people obtain the skill set required for positions at the refinery. We also maintain an equivalent ratio of aboriginal employees to reflect area demographics.

Cameco is committed to hiring local contractors and purchasing goods and services from local suppliers where appropriate.

Our commitment to people and the community helps the Blind River refinery maintain an employee turnover rate of less than one per cent. It also earned us recognition as one of the best places to work in northern Ontario in October 2009.
