Australia holds the world's largest uranium reserves and is among the most promising areas for exploration. Cameco has an extensive, growing presence in Australia with 23 active exploration projects, 22 of which we operate. These exploration projects represent more than 1.7 million hectares of quality land assembled since 1997.

Our Australian holdings include the Kintyre project in Western Australia acquired through a joint venture with Mitsubishi in 2008 and the Angela project, acquired through a joint venture with Paladin Energy Ltd, also in 2008. Cameco Australia has offices in Darwin and Alice Springs with more than 20 experienced staff.
