Junior engineers starting their careers with Cameco automatically join the engineer in training (EIT) program. The program offers on-the-job experience and training to develop critical knowledge and skills, helping to prepare engineers for management or a technical career path.

Cameco currently has two distinct streams in the EIT program – metallurgical and mine engineering. The rotations for these disciplines could include work placements at Saskatchewan operations including corporate office in Saskatoon.

The EIT program complements the Saskatchewan professional engineer and geologist certification requirements, so employees can obtain certification within a year of successfully completing the program.

As instant members of a technical team, EIT participants are assigned a professional mentor (senior engineer) to provide valuable personal and professional advice.
