WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Ashburton and Turee Creek are early-stage projects located about 150 km southwest of Newman in Western Australia. Ashburton, a joint venture between Cameco (50%) and U3O8 Limited (50%), comprises some 6,287 hectares of land in the Bresnahan Basin.
Turee Creek is located 25 km north of Ashburton and has a long exploration history. Cameco has made a four-year commitment to earn a 70% interest in Turee Creek from Aldershot Resources Ltd. The project's previous operators found low-grade concentrations of uranium close to the surface in the Kunderong sandstone. Current exploration is focused on the untested unconformity below.
