Canadian-based Cameco Corporation is one of the world’s largest uranium producers.

Australia, home to the world's largest known uranium reserves, is now a big part of our plans for the future.

Cameco has been actively exploring for uranium in Australia since 1996 and we are involved in a number of projects across the country.

In mid-2012, Cameco announced an agreement with BHP Billiton to acquire the Yeelirrie uranium project in Western Australia.

In 2008, through a joint-venture with Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd. Cameco acquired the Kintyre project also located in Western Australia. Cameco is currently the operator and hopes to bring Kintyre into production in the years ahead.
